Learning to sail can be the beginning of a whole new, inspiring lifestyle. Similarly to learning to ride a bicycle, you will earn yourself an activity you can participate in forever. Learning to sail gives you the wonderful opportunity to get out for a fun trip on water and enjoy the vast freedom, doing a sport that is both relaxing and stimulating.
Our sailing school is unparalleled in numerous aspects:
-We have some of the finest sailing destinations in the world at hand,
-We use modern generation boats and equipment maintained in excellent condition,
-Most of our instructors are full-time, professional sailing coaches, who have extensive knowledge and a burning passion for the sport of sailing.
A large part of the SailFirst School’s aims is introducing as many people as possible to this sport, We strive and succeed to ensure you learn in a safe, fun and high-quality environment.
Our course curriculum has been polished by years of teaching sailors. Thus, whether you’re a child, total beginner, or experienced sailor, we offer an educational opportunity for anyone and everyone.
Our teaching mainly revolves around two fields:
The best way to learn sailing firmly remains practice. For younger students, aged 8-14, this can be done perfectly on our optimist boats. This lightweight dinghy with a single sail responds sharply to all conditions, such as the wind or rudder movement, making it perfect for feeling directly how the boat responds to certain changes. Despite this, it remains very simple to operate, great for younger students all over the world to start with. The younger the age you start sailing, the more familiar you become with the water.
Optimist boats are simple to transport on the roof of almost any car, safe and simple enough fo an 8-year-old, yet exciting and technical enough for a 15-year-old. Sailed in over 110 countries, by over 150,000 young sailors, it remains the only dinghy approved by the international Sailing Federation exclusively for children under 16 years of age. At the last Olympic Games, over half of the dinghy skippers, who took part are former optimist sailors.
Our course is designed for those who want to:-Get their children familiar with the sailboat and various sea conditions.
-Introduce those up to 14 years of age to operating the Optimist
-Make them understand their basic terminology and appropriate decision-making, such as luffing up, bearing away, tacking, sailing in all directions, capsize recovery techniques as well as any other essential safety knowledge, preparing and hoisting sails, the role of the helmsman, appropriate dismemberment of the boat and its sails, their storage and maintenance.
A professional skipper and a group up to “X” students will sail aboard a J/80 classed sailboat. The course is comprised of “X” sailing lessons.
All our sailing courses prioritise practice.
